Rustam Minnikhanov visited the cultural heritage sites in the center of Kazan

(Kazan City KZN.RU, September 2). Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited cultural heritage of republican values ​​in the heart of Kazan today. Head of the republic was accompanied by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, chief mufti of Tatarstan Kamil Hazrat Samigullin, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Feofan.

The first object of the visit was the Galeev mosque located at st. G.Tukay, 40/22. Restoration and construction work is currently undergoing here. Recall that in 2014 it was decided to create a complex of residence of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Tatarstan, which will include a building of Galeev mosque, M.I.Galeev’s houses, and other facilities. The head of the republic visited the building of the mosque, got acquainted with the works that are carried out inside the building, and also instructed to speed up their implementation. According to Rustam Minnikhanov, the opening of Galeev mosque should be timed to celebrate Maoulid in December.

After that the acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan visited Galeev House, where also restoration is carried out. Today facade work are made at the facility, windows and door openings, wiring network engineering were installed, roof was mounted, bricklaying was recreated, etc.

The next object visited by Rustam Minnikhanov was the church of the Descent of Holy Spirit (st. T.Minnullin, 21), the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan says. Recall, until recently, the building housed a children's puppet theater. In May 2012 the building was handed over to the gratuitous use of the Kazan diocese, the dean was appointed - archpriest Alexei Chubakov. In July 2012 Rustam Minnikhanov visited the temple during the inspection of the historical center of Kazan. As a result of the inspection of the object, it was decided on the state facilitating of the repair work.

Rustam Minnikhanov also visited the educational institution "Orthodox Gymnasium named after St. Gury of Kazan", which is next to the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit. Area of gymnasium is 960 square meters, 34 children are studying here, training is carried out on a fee basis to the fourth grade, and preschool group of preparation for school is also working here. Head of the republic was told about plans for the development and expansion of the Orthodox Church gymnasium in the complex of the temple of Descent of the Holy Spirit.

Galeev mosque was built in 1798 at the expense of Musa Mamyashi, who came from the village Cerda (now Sabinsky district of RT). It was also named as the fifth cathedral mosque and the mosque of Musa bay. In 1930th the mosque was closed, the minaret was dismantled. The building was used as a hotel. In 1997 the building was returned to believers.

Two throne stone church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit was built in Sukonnaya settlement in 1731-1735-ies at the expense of the widow of I.A.Mihlyaev, who had kept a cloth manufacture - Evdokia Mikhlyaeva. The temple was one of the most crowded in Kazan (up to four thousand believers). After the revolution the bell tower of the church and chapel were destroyed. In Soviet times a children's puppet theater was located in the building of the church.
