KZN.RU, September 1, Albert Murtazin). With a large-scale concert at the square
in front of the stadium "Kazan Arena" the first republican Day of
Knowledge was celebrated in the capital of Tatarstan. The event, organized for
the first-year students, was attended by the Acting President of the Republic
of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Deputy Prime
Minister - Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov, university
rectors.
Head of the
republic welcomed the newly students and congratulated them with the beginning
of the academic year. "You are very lucky. You study in the best
universities of the republic. You live in a beautiful city, the capital of our republic
- Kazan. Now here come a lot of interesting events and festivals, "- said
the acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan. Rustam Minnikhanov noted
that today in the republic new projects are implemented: there are special
economic zones, development of the oil and petrochemical industry,
petrochemical industry, machine-building, socio-cultural sphere, and more.
"We all need qualified specialists," - said the head of the republic.
He added
that it is planned to make such a republican Day of Knowledge, which brings
together the rectors of universities and students, including freshmen, an
annual event. "I heartily congratulate you on the Day of Knowledge and
wish you success and good luck!" - said Rustam Minnikhanov.
In addition
to the head of the republic, the freshmen were congratulated by 16 rectors of
leading universities in Tatarstan. Professors sang a song for new students.
During the festival the beginning of another tradition was also given - the
oath of freshmen. Adelia Musabirova, freshman of KFU, winner of international
competitions, sworn on behalf of newly students from the scene.
At the
festival students enjoyed bright concert program with the vocal and dance
numbers performed by the best creative teams and performers of Kazan and
Tatarstan. Also famous Kazan musical group "Murakami" with their
greatest hits performed for the audience.
