I. Metshin urged his colleagues to use the experience of Kazan in municipal parking

The mayors of cities of the Association of the Volga region examined the experience of Kazan to improve the quality of transport today. The general meeting of the Association was held in Kazan City Hall under the chairmanship of the head of Association, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

During the discussion, the head of the capital of Tatarstan noted that the project of implementation of municipal paid parkings in Kazan have shown the great efficiency towards improving the transport system of the city. The network of municipal parking spaces with a capacity of 1250 places started to work in Kazan at April 1 on 27 parts of streets in the center of the city.

"The challenge for the city authorities is to ensure easy movement of vehicles and the possibility to park even in the most crowded places - said the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. - We all remember that hell on the main streets, where some threw their cars parking sometimes in two or three rows, and others were staying in traffic jams at the same time. Today the situation has changed radically. "

"Our colleagues in Moscow said that after the introduction of paid parkings, center became empty. We cannot name our streets empty. But today, there is a guaranteed place for parking for those who come to the center. That task we have set ourselves is done, "- said the Mayor of Kazan. The head of the city called on his colleagues from the Volga region to take advantage of the experience of the capital of Tatarstan, and to consider the introduction of such a system in their cities, promising them full support.

At the end of the meeting Ilsur Metshin stressed that mayors of the Volga region must continue to learn from each other.
