(KZN.RU, October 10, Ekaterina Andreeva). Elections 2010 can be considered as the most pure and fair by both candidates and elected parties. This opinion was expressed by Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan to journalists after voting.
The Head of the city with his wife voted at the polling station № 272 in the Petrovskiy settlement which took place in an elementary school № 129 of the Privolzhskiy region of Kazan.
We remind that today, on October 11, 2010 Russia holds a single voting day which is cover the elections in 77 subjects of the Russian Federation. The municipal election of the deputies for Kazan City Duma has launched today in the capital of Tatarstan. This year they has been held under the new scheme. 25 out of 50 Kazan city Duma deputies will be elected in a single member constituencies, the remaining 25 seats will be distributed among the list of candidates nominated by political parties. The city's election commission has registered 4 parties out of the six regional parties: the Edinaya Rossiya Party, the Communist Party, the Spravedlivaya Rossiya Party, and the Liberal Democratic Party.
All 450 polling stations in Kazan have started their work on time at 7 o'clock in the morning. "To conduct these elections legitimately, to prevent any emergencies, incidents and subsequent litigation is our main goal”, Ilsur Metshin said.
As the KZN.RU has already reported, the public order and security today is provided by about 3 thousand people; these are officers of the law enforcement agencies, KSJI students and employees of private security companies.
The Mayor also recall that there is no a low threshold of the voter turnout this year. "Nevertheless we would like to see as many residents of Kazan voters came to their polling stations and showed their social responsibility, voted for their candidates, for their party”, the Mayor of Kazan said.
Ilsur Metshin also has noted that candidates and parties showed the maximum correctness during the election campaign. "There has not been smear campaign, some actions that go beyond the election race and decency", the Mayor said.
"It is not the first time when I spend the elections as the Head of the city and I can say that this is the most deserving elections. This concerns all candidates. There has not been seamy side as it is called. There have not been actions beyond the limits of decency. It shows maturity of the parties and candidates. I can say that we deserve the title of the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. We know how to fight for voters. And I'm very pleased ", Ilsur Metshin summed up.
