Metshin attended a concert dedicated to the 215th anniversary of the foundation
of Kazan University. The students presented a colorful musical program to the
guests of the celebration – the graduates of different years.

congratulated the University on its anniversary from the stage of the concert
hall UNICS. “I always come to my home University with great gladness, I anxiously
recall my student years. There is no need to list all the achievements of this
University. It is important that today the names of graduates glorify the
University. Much is being done by a rector- Ilshat Gafurov and his team to
develop the University. Ratings are important, but more important is how I see
you today. You know how to learn, you know how to develop, you know how to
relax. Kazan University is an important and unique part of our city”, - Ilsur
Metshin addressed the students.
Rector of KFU Ilshat Gafurov thanked the students for their academic
achievements. “With all my heart I want to congratulate us on a significant
event-the 215th anniversary of the founding of the Kazan Federal University.
Today KFU is making a new history. Every year hundreds of young highly
qualified talented specialists are being graduated, who continue their work for
the benefit of our science and our country”, - the rector said.
The program of the celebration reported the way of formation and development of
the University. The audience was presented sketches based on the lives of
outstanding scientists, writers, public and state figures whose destinies were
closely connected with Kazan University: Alexander I, Nikolai Lobachevsky, Ivan
Simonov, Leo Tolstoy, Jozef Kowalewski, Alexander Butlerov, Vladimir Lenin. The
guests were also told about the life of the University during the wartime and
in the post-Soviet period and even showed how the University will look in the
