The match between teams of "Rubin" and "Bordeaux" was left without a winner
(Kazan City KZN.RU, October 2). Despite of the plenty of scoring chances, "Rubin" and "Bordeaux" failed to please the audience with goals at the "Central" stadium in the match of the 2nd round group stage of the UEFA Europa League, the press service of "Rubin" informs. As a result, the game ended with the score 0: 0.
Coaching staff of "Rubin" team has made changes in the usual balance of the last matches. So, Carlos Eduardo moved to the flank, his place the striker Marko Devic took, from the first minutes Sergei Kislyak played instead of Blagoj Georgiev. "Bordeaux" came out in Kazan without a number of leaders: Wahbi Khazri, Jaroslav Plasil, Milan Gayich remained in reserve.
The game proceeded at a rapid pace, almost without midfield. Valery Chaly’s wards could come forward in the 29th minute, but Devic failed to beat goalkeeper Cedric Karras. Five minutes later, the visitors created perhaps the most dangerous moment of the first half. Henri Saivet with a 25-meter free-kick made a beat for sure, it seemed, but the crossbar saved the gate of Sergei Ryzhikov. In the remaining time before the break both teams attacked from the flanks. A couple of times "Rubin" had good moments on the left by Elmir Nabiullin, but his partner’s strikes were not satisfactory.
From the first minutes of the second half Kazan players took the ball under control and had a few meaningful attacks. In one of them another inning of Nabiulliin found a destination, Maxim Kanunnikov beat was almost without hindrances, but he did not hit the target. French coach Willy Sagnol reacted quickly, adding Xazri and Plasil to the battle. Sharpness appeared in the actions of "Bordeaux". Twice in five minutes Enzo Crivelli completed the French attacks not bad, forcing the audience of the "Central" to sigh with relief.
Over time "Rubin" was able to move the game from its gates, but in the 80th minute was in the minority after the second yellow card of Sergei Kislyak. Ending the meeting was dictated by "Bordeaux". Kazan team stood out and even had a chance to take three points, but Diniyar Bilyaletdinov had not enough accuracy in the final phase of the counter.
The result is 0: 0. "Rubin" gains the first point in the group stage of the Europa League of this season and will go to the "Anfield" for a visit to the "Liverpool" in the next round.
