I.Metshin on the recognition of Kazan as the best city in Russia in terms of living standards

Fairly, it is a great pleasure and honor to win in the main nomination of the award of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. I believe that much is determined by the infrastructure projects implemented in Kazan – Federal, Republican and municipal, which led to such a high status.

Thus, thanks to the infrastructural changes caused by the preparation and holding of the Universiade 2013, the number of small and micro enterprises in Kazan was increased, as well as the volume of their products. Simultaneously, the city managed to train a lot of in-demand specialists, and also to attract a large number of tourists. In the year of the Millennium anniversary (2005-ed. note) Kazan welcomed 500 thousand tourists, and today this number has increased to 3.2 million tourists. Infrastructure solutions are essentially changing the life of cities. At the same time, people also change – they begin to look ahead with confidence. But we understand that the higher the quality and standard of living, the higher the desires of citizens.

The achievements of Kazan are the results of team work, when the representatives of the Federal Government, the first President of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, the President Rustam Minnikhanov, and the citizens of Kazan worked towards a common goal.
