I. Metshin about future Kazan

The winner of the Open International Competition for the Development of the Concept and Master Plan of the Eco-District of Kazan has been determined. In fact, the jury found it difficult to single out someone. The transport component was better developed In one of the applications. The second one had more harmonious buildings, more attention was paid to economic issues in the third one. The teams worked out all the questions in detail and took into account the history of the area. All this was reflected in the final decisions. I would like to use all the best that the participating teams presented to us during the project implementation.

The project to develop the eco-district concept on the territory of the former Artillery warehouses is unique for the city, the republic, and the architectural community of the country. The best world players in this field were represented at the competition! We saw new approaches to design that are not typical for Russia... There are many elements in the works of the contestants that are not typical for today's architecture of modern Russia: public gardens, the lack of visual borders between objects, and a lot of other interesting things. All this allows us to talk about the architecture of the XXI century.

I believe that the project will set the trend for a completely new level of people's life. We saw what Kazan would be like tomorrow. This significant part of the Kirovsky district has every chance to become the pearl of the new Kazan!
