I. Metshin about the development of the Kazan agglomeration

We began the active work on the development of the Kazan agglomeration. Of course, together we have more opportunities, because the agglomeration includes 6 municipal districts of the republic. Together, we will learn to manage space and capital more efficiently, become more mobile. We signed a cooperation agreement for this purpose, defined goals, and objectives of the agglomeration. After all, there are many opportunities and ways of development! Food cluster, interaction with local producers, and one of the most promising areas is tourism.

Tourism, in general, is a powerful catalyst for economic development. We have seriously advanced, quite recently Kazan met a 3-millionth tourist. And although the quantitative indicators are encouraging, both foreign and Russian tourists stay in the capital of Tatarstan not for long, for two days on average.

I would like to expand the tourist geography of Kazan precisely at the expense of the Kazan agglomeration. We already use “magnets” of Zelenodolsk region: Raifa, Sviyazhsk, rarely Bolgar, it’s two or three hours by car. But I am sure that there are interesting objects in Kazan and its surroundings that not only tourists, but also some residents do not know about. All this should be in the proposal of travel companies. I believe that work in this project will bring us a lot of new perspectives and opportunities. Let’s do it!
