I. Metshin about the General Plan of Kazan

The general plan of Kazan is the most important strategic document. Hundreds of specialists, the best professionals in this field from all over Russia, foreign experts invest in it. It sets clear rules for everyone: owners, residents, businesses, investors, officials.

Today, when large cities are developing very rapidly you need to take this document very seriously and the city's development, consider the number of new highways, new social infrastructure facilities, and ways of leveling the conditions between high-rise areas and our suburbs.

The most important principle by which the General Plan draft was created is the compliance with the interests of the majority of residents. All the solutions proposed by professionals, urban planners based on in-depth analysis and selected among several possible options, were taken with responsibility for the future of the city. And now, residents, business and all concerned should speak out on the points that they question with the same responsibility at public hearings.

Such a work on organizing a broad discussion is not new for us. We discussed and adopted the City Development Strategy until 2030, adopted documents in the field of urban planning policy, various regulations related to improvement, advertising, street trade and many other areas of the urban economy. This process is slow, laborious, but it is always a dialogue with our citizens.

The purpose of this great work is to create the most transparent rules of life in the city and its development and to put the city development in the chosen direction. The schedule of the hearings is drawn up. I ask you to organize the work with all seriousness at the proper level. So that we will discuss and adopt the new Kazan General Plan in a constructive dialogue with the population and involving professionals.
