I. Metshin about the development strategy of Kazan until 2030

The development of the strategy was based on the experience of successful cities, the local expert community, and in addition, the city's residents were involved in the process.

We formulate our vision of Kazan in the 30th year as a dynamic city of sustainable economic growth and broad opportunities, the leader of the Volga-Kama growth pole. Kazan is a territory of health, a city convenient for living, with active and responsible citizens, an open government, and a safe urban environment. A city where you want to come and where it's interesting to live every day. And the main strategic goal is to be the driver of change, the locomotive of the republic's movement towards a smart economy, to become the leading Russian center of scientific, educational, innovative, and financial activity.

Kazan has all the opportunities for rapid development. And it can play an important role in realizing Russia's new foreign policy and foreign economic priorities, being a traditional natural bridge linking East and West, Europe and Asia.

Based on the opinion of the population and taking into account the conclusions of experts, we formulated the following factors of success in the competition for a place in the family of world cities. First and foremost, it is a comfortable, healthy environment with a high share of green and public spaces, a world-class education system, active international and interregional connections and accessibility of world centers, an effective system of strategic future management, with the support of an active urban community, and an effective energy-saving communal service.
