(Kazan, KZN.RU, October 6, by Adelya Galieva). The "Blooming Kazan" project yielded impressive results. In 2015, this project must further develop so that the capital of Tatarstan would grow quantitatively and qualitatively thanks to greenery and flower planting, said Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at today's Business Monday meeting.
The heads of city administration also reported on the results of the "Blooming Kazan" project at today's Business Monday. First of all, the heads of all city districts noted active participation of residents and businesses in the project, thanks to which Kazan flourished and became even more beautiful this summer.
"The results are impressive indeed, and it is not only a matter of numbers. We planted five million flowers for the Universiade and saw Kazan become prettier. Our residents suggested that the efforts continue after the Universiade, in the summer of 2014, so that Kazan wouldn't lose any of its beauty. We gathered together, made calculations and decided that flower planting could be increased by one-third. And we did it!" said Ilsur Metshin with satisfaction.
The Mayor thanked all those who took part in the "Blooming Kazan" project. According to him, budgetary funds alone would not have been enough to implement it without the participation of enterprises. The head of the city suggested that the most active participants be awarded. The mayor urged making every effort to ensure that in 2015 the project reached a new stage, and the city gained quantitatively and qualitatively by greening and floral solutions.
Ilsur Metshin also stressed that next in line was tree planting in October – November. The mayor expressed his hope that all city enterprises would contribute to the project. "We need to make sure that this year's "Green Record" should be large-scale, properly organized and, most importantly, be accomplished to high standards and with quality seed," he stressed.
At the end of the meeting, the Kazan mayor noted that improving the city was a priority, especially in view of the upcoming FINA World Cup to be held in Kazan next year. "The number of participating countries will be greater than during the Universiade. The news media will be covering the event in the capital of Tatarstan for a month. But our real VIPs, even at the championship, will be our Kazan residents," concluded Ilsur Metshin.
