GTO norms may be fulfilled in Kazan's Gorky Park
(Kazan, KZN.RU, September 15, by Adel Galiev). Anyone should be able to try to fulfill the Ready for Labor and Defense (GTO) norms every Sunday at the sports ground of Kazan's renovated Gorky Central Park of Culture and Recreation. This was decreed at today's Business Monday meeting by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, who stressed the necessity to create all conditions for passing the GTO norms.
Ilgiz Fakhriev, chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports, said that federally approved sites will be established in Kazan, where residents will be able to pass the GTO norms and receive Ready for Labor and Defense badges and certificates. Ilsur Metshin requested that the sports ground in the updated Gorky Park should be made ready for everyone wishing to meet the requirements. Anyone should be able to attempt to meet the norms on Sundays. He instructed those responsible to accelerate the preparations. "When the pilot site is fully operational, we will organize them in every city district," promised Ilsur Metshin.
