(KZN.RU, May 9, by Taisiya Basharkina) On the day of the 68th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Kazan subway builders presented a gift to the veterans – three new subway stations, "Aviastroitelnaya", "Severny Vokzal" and "Yashlek". Aviastroitelny District residents obtained a fast connection to the city center and Privolzhsky District.
The launch of the new subway stations was attended by Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin. The mayor, together with war veterans, rode the "Rusich" train from the new "Aviastroitelnaya" station to "Kozya Sloboda". And the veterans were able to get to the "Kremlyovskaya" metro station, from which they went on to the Victory Day Parade.
Ilsur Metshin congratulated veterans on the occasion and said that the new stations may be the most important Victory Day gift to all the residents of Kazan and, in particular, to the veterans. "We've been expectantly waiting for this historic event. Thanks to the new stations, the two opposite ends of the city have become connected, and in 24 minutes you can get from Aviastroitelny to Privolzhsky District," said the mayor.
