Kazan airport new terminal launched in test mode
(KZN.RU, November 8) Passengers checked in for the Kazan – Astrakhan flight at Terminal 1A of the international airport “Kazan” in the test mode. The new terminal was visited by President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
The construction of the new terminal began in September 2009. The 20 thousand square meter terminal will be able to handle 1.2 million passengers a year.
Initially, the new terminal will serve passengers on domestic flights only. International flights will start by the end of the year – after arrangements have been made for passport and customs control.
