(KZN.RU, November 7, by Ekaterina Andreyeva) Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin met with the Governor of Eskisehir (Turkey) Kadir Kochdemir.
The parties discussed, among other things, the questions of further cooperation in economy, culture and education. It will be recalled that the Eskisehir delegation headed by Mr. Qadir Kochdemir is on a working visit to Tatarstan from November 5 to 9.
It should also be recalled that the Summit of Heads of Turkic-speaking Countries declared Eskisehir to be the 2013 Culture Capital of the Turkic World. In 2014, the title will go to Kazan.
Kazan and Eskisehir are twin cities (the friendship treaty was signed April 2, 1997). It is noteworthy that the largest number of ethnic Tatars, who keep their traditions and language, live in this province.
