(KZN.RU, November 10, by Renat Shirmanov) Today marks exactly one month since the start of the “Green Record” project in Kazan. On this day, another massive tree planting was held at 42 city sites.
The mayor of the capital of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin participated in the beautification of the Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda settlement. The mayor, along with neighborhood old-timers, planted large trees along Mardzhani Street. Kamal Theater actors, environmental activists, representatives of Tatarstan's Ministry of Forestry also took part. New lindens, willows and spruces appeared along the Lake Kaban waterfront.
Ilsur Metshin thanked the participants for their contribution to the greening of the city and said that such events would be held in Kazan on a regular basis.
"I am grateful to all those who care about Kazan and who have contributed to the greening of the city. I invite everyone else to join in. A new Kazan – clean and well-kept – is in the offing,” summed up Ilsur Metshin.
