By the start of the heating season, Kazan will have 30 kilometers of heating and hot water supply networks replaced. One of the largest projects is underway on Musina Street, where the main heating pipeline-17 is being reconstructed. This pipeline provides heat to the Novo-Savinovsky district of the city and is a crucial link in the overall heat transfer system. Over the past five years, there have been 16 incidents at this facility, so it has been decided to renovate the site. The first stage of work on the 440-meter network is nearing completion, and the second phase is planned to be completed by October. Mayor Ilsur Metshin visited the site to discuss preparations for the heating season.
The main heating line -17 was built in 1995, and during this time, the network was worn out by about 70%. As part of the reconstruction of the heating pipeline, work will be carried out on Musina Street over a section measuring 718 meters. Previously, networks measuring almost 2 kilometers were replaced.
“The water level has risen significantly here, and the pipelines were flooded. We are insulating the pipes to save and extend their service life. Under proper installation conditions and compliance with technology, the heating pipe will last for 30 years,”- said Askhat Shakhanov, director of Kazan Heat Networks.
Twenty-two workers and 10 vehicles are involved in the reconstruction of the site. The works include the replacement of steel pipelines with pipelines in a polyurethane foam shell – such insulation helps to reduce heat loss, reduces maintenance and repair costs. The reconstruction is carried out by the contractor organization Energoprogress.
The first stage of work on the 440-meter section of the heating pipeline, to which consumers are connected, is coming to completion. Hot water supply has already been provided to residents of nearby residential buildings. In the near future, workers will start landscaping the territory. The second stage of reconstruction on the 278.6 -meter section of the heating pipeline will be completed by October.
In total, 1,191 kilometers of heating ducts are served by Kazan Heating Networks. Of these, 23 kilometers will be replaced or reconstructed during the heating season. Kazenergo JSC will repair 7 kilometers of networks. As of today, work has been completed on 65-70% of these. In total, over the past five years, 233 kilometers of networks have been replaced and repaired in the city.
According to Iskander Giniyatullin, Deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, by the upcoming heating period in Kazan, almost 6,000 apartment buildings will be pressurized (operational readiness - 77%) and 879 social facilities (operational readiness - 75%). Plans also include replacing boilers in five boiler houses located along Zelenaya, N. Ershova, Muzykalnaya, Zheleznodorozhnikov, and Olonetsky streets.
During the upcoming heating season, a new modular boiler house will go into operation on Tolstogo Street. This facility was built to replace an outdated departmental boiler house at the VKNIIVOLT plant complex. The new boiler house will provide heat for a kindergarten, four apartment buildings, and three administrative buildings.
