Ilsur Metshin proposes to create an association of architects from the BRICS countries at the Kazanysh forum

The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin proposed to create an association of architects of the BRICS countries at the International Architectural and Construction Forum “Kazanysh: Reflection of identity”. Its main task should be establishing an international exchange of experience and best practices to improve the living standards in the member countries, as well as to improve the artistic and engineering qualities of architectural projects.

International public architectural and design organizations of the BRICS countries, as well as officials of the interstate association responsible for the architecture, will be invited to participate in the association. The composition will be determined by voting at the congress, which is planned to be held every two years. At the congress, it is proposed to determine the presiding country and the president of the association.

The Association will be able to establish a permanent exchange of students and organize internship programs for students and aspiring architects. In addition, one of the key aspects of the new association's activities may be the organization of international competitions for the creation of architectural projects.

“The Association will provide the BRICS countries with access to the best professionals and will greatly facilitate the procedures for inviting leading architectural bureaus to competitions. It will provide opportunities for higher-quality specialized education, thanks to internships at leading architectural schools. It will improve the exchange of knowledge and technologies in the construction sector between specialists from different countries,”- Ilsur Metshin explained.

In addition, participation in the association will provide access to international expertise in the urban planning.
