A new sports complex has opened at school No.№ 49 of the Novo-Savinovsky
city district, which can be visited not only by school students, but also by
children with disabilities. This is the first school complex in Tatarstan,
where children with disabilities will be trained wheelchair dancing, Paralympic
fencing, and visually impaired – a goalball. Previously, a creative leisure
center MasterOK was opened here for children with disabilities. Today, the Mayor
of Kazan IlsurMetshin inspected the new sports complex and promised to purchase
wheelchairs for dancers.
“A few years ago we met with mothers of children with disabilities, and
they told us that there are a lot of children with various diseases at school №
49. Therefore, we decided to build a sports complex here. The equipment was purchased
according to the recommendations of the trainers, but this is just the
beginning. We need to know what equipment is still needed so that children and
students could improve not only in their health, but also participate in
competitions,”- the head of the city noted.
According to the school principal Dmitry Sadretdinov, the complex has two
sports halls –physical training hall and a gym, in which up to five disabled
children can train.
Before training, children will warm-up. According to the wheelchair
dancing coach Tatiana, this sport is just beginning to develop in the republic,
Kazan will be the first in this direction. Specialized wheel chairs differ from
the usual ones, they have no brakes.
According to Dmitry Sadretdinov, in the first half of the day, the
sports complex will host trainings in floorball, volleyball and basketball for
students of school № 49. In the afternoon, the sports facility will function as
an institution of supplementary education. “There are 14 children with disabilities
studying at school,”- the principal added.
To date, two coaches work at the sports complex, two more are undergoing
retraining in adaptive physical education. In total, classes in four areas are
planned for children with disabilities– football (for children with cerebral
palsy and intellectual disabilities), goalball (for the visually impaired),
wheelchair dancing, as well as Paralympic fencing.
The sports complex with an area of more than 625 square meters is
located on Musina str., 30. The building is equipped with two locker rooms for
boys and girls, eight people each. They are equipped with showers. Ilsur Metshin
stressed that there has never been such an experience in Kazan.
A creative leisure center MasterOK for students and children with
disabilities operates at School № 49. It was opened on the initiative of the
Mayor of Kazan. The center has four workshops, 45 children will be able to
attend after an opening: classes in plumbing and carpentry – 25 people, classes
