A dry fountain, 400 trees and a lake with a pier: the park in the Salavat Kupere will open by September

The new park in the Salavat Kupere residential area will open by the end of summer – recently work on the second stage of landscaping has been launched there. The progress of construction works was inspected by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

In the Salavat Kupere residential area on Nail Yusupov Street on an area of 3.5 hectares, second stage of development of the new park has begun.

“This year we will complete the work on the creation of a new city park on a land plot of 6 hectares. The builders will have to develop key objects: to improve the lake, create an amphitheater, build sports and recreation areas. The necessary equipment and materials are available, works are carried out in accordance with a schedule. The park in Salavat Kupere is a complicated but interesting site. We will improve the recreation area for 22 thousand residents of this neighborhood”, - said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.

The first stage of the park was completed last year. Utility networks were laid on the territory of the park, lighting poles, automatic irrigation systems, video cameras, a modular lavatory were installed, pedestrian sidewalks were equipped, the territory was prepared for children's, sports and extreme playgrounds.

The architect of the project Karina Davletyarova (ZARF Architectural bureau) told the head of the city that old trees are being preserved in the park and new ones are being planted. “Despite the fact that there are many green areas around Salavat Kupere, including Lake Lebyazhye, it is important that there are many green spaces nearby, including coniferous trees”, - Ilsur Metshin noted.

At the request of the residents, the architects enlarged the parade area, one of the three zones of the park. “It will be possible to celebrate holidays and organize events in a cultural center with an amphitheater, and street musical instruments will be placed on the square”, - Karina Davletyarova noted.

A recreation area is organized around the lake, which was decided to preserve when creating the park. There will be an amphitheater, which will serve as an observation deck. In addition, there will be a pier at the lake.

There will also be an area for board games, including ping-pong. A dry fountain will become a favorite entertainment for children. Those who wish will be able to watch birds in a specially designated area with stationary birdhouses. Following the example of the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest, the residents of Salavat Kupere will have their own public garden – with beds and greenhouses. In addition, as part of the second stage of work, it is planned to equip barbeque areas with tables and canopies.

The park in the Salavat Kupere residential area will become the second public space in Russia where special play equipment for dogs will be installed. At the same time, dog handlers and their pets will not interfere with other visitors to the park – a spacious dog walking area of more than 700 sq. meters with a separate entrance will be located in a lowland, fenced with trees.

“Concrete works at the amphitheater with an area of 920 sq.m have been completed by 80%, after that we will start front and decoration works”, - Andrey Zakamsky, director of the Etalon construction company, told the Mayor of the city.

Works will continue in the recreation area. A game maze, a sandbox, a shade canopy, trampolines, swings and a bungee will be installed on the playground. A workout equipment and wall bars will be delivered to the sports ground and a streetball ground will be equipped.

It is planned to complete all work in the park by the end of summer.
