A ceremonial passage
of the troops of the Kazan garrison took place on the Tysyacheletiye (Millennium)
Square marking the 76th anniversary of the Victory in the Great
Patriotic War. More than 2 thousand soldiers, cadets and military students marched
through the square, as well as military hardware was shown. Tatarstan President
Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin, Chair of the
Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, State Councilor of the republic of
Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and others watched
the parade.
Since early
morning, the Tysyacheletiye Square was crowded – many Kazan residents came to
watch the parade with their families. On the central stands, there were war
veterans and home front workers, their ceremonial uniforms decorated have been
with orders and medals.
According to
tradition, the Victory Banner and the state flags of the Russian Federation and
the republic of Tatarstan were carried in front of the stands to the music of
A. Alexandrov “Holy War”.
On a large
screen installed on the square, Kazan residents were able to see live the
military parade on Red Square in Moscow. President of the country, Supreme
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin
congratulated all Russians on the Victory Day.
The memory of
the victims of the Great Patriotic War was honored by a minute of silence.
After that, the anthem of the Russian Federation was played.
Tatarstan
President Rustam Minnikhanov also congratulated veterans and home front
workers. At the end of his speech, the national anthem of the Republic was
played.
The rhythm to
the 25 parade crews was set by the composite company of drummers of the Kazan
Suvorov Military School. Under the march of drums, the troops of the Kazan
garrison, officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of
Emergency Situations, representatives of military schools, republican public
associations, and students marched. The parade was headed by the commander of
the Kazan Higher Military Command School, Major General Kirill Kulakov.
Next, the military
wartime units of hardware were shown, among which were the legendary tanks
T-34-85, IS-3, T-34 Kolkhoznik Tataria, the famous Katyusha, self-propelled
artillery platform SU-100, armored personnel carriers, evacuation equipment, retro
cars concluded the column.
The parade of
the Kazan garrison ended with a theatrical performance of the song
“Victory Day” by the combined choir of Kazan, performances were presented by
the artists of the republic. The surprise was the performance of the Russian
actor Pavel Priluchny, who performed the military song “Lovely City” from the
stage. Salavat Fatkhutdinov. People's Artist of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan,
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, sang the song “Min yaratam sine,
Tatarstan”, which is well-known to many residents of the republic.
