Today Ilsur
Metshin, Kazan Mayor, inspected the renovated “Motor” sports school in the
Aviastroitelny district and discussed further transformations in the school
with its director. In early October, the overhaul was completed here after
which there are new locker rooms, showers, offices and coaching rooms, as well
as a unique climbing wall.
The renovation of
one of the oldest Kazan sports schools began in February. The main part of the
work was carried out in the old building, built in 1949. The roof, front, sports
hall, locker rooms, administrative offices were renovated, engineering networks
were replaced, and sports equipment was updated. In addition, the front of the
second building of the school built in 1985 was repaired.
During the reconstruction, the designed capacity of
the sports venue has increased, and the capacity of almost all premises has
expanded.
After renovation, the sports school was equipped with
a climbing wall. This allowed to open a climbing class here, and 130 children
are already training.
According to Evgeniya Valeyeva, a climbing coach, the
opportunity to practice climbing in a sports school is a huge step forward, climbing
is one of the most popular sports in Europe, all groups of muscles are involved
during classes. There are a lot of strong athletes in Kazan, but previously
there was no sufficient infrastructure for development, since training sessions
were held only at school sessions, E.Valeyeva said.
Another important class at the Motor sports school is
football. 256 people are engaged in this sport here, in eight different age
groups. Football coach Rashid Gainullin told the Mayor that now ideal
conditions are created for children at the Motor sports school. Ilsur Metshin
assured that work in this area will continue. Next year, it is planned to renovate
the football pitch and equip athletics tracks on sports school ground.
“It is very important that 50% of Kazan citizens today
choose a healthy lifestyle and are active in sports. Our task, the task of the municipal
authorities is to create decent conditions for this. I am
very happy that, despite the budget problems this year, we were able to make renovation
both at the Tasma sports school in the Moskovsky district and at the Kasatka pool
in the Privolzhsky district. Now – “Motor” in the Aviastroitelny district. We
will go on, and then we will have a football pitch and other sports
infrastructure facilities”, - Ilsur Metshin said.
