After completion of the works, both sides of the lake will have phyto-treatment cascades, a barbecue area, a new rowing school building, a football pitch, new areas for pedestrians and cyclists, an amphitheater, hammocks, a sports ground, a green area, bicycle parking, a new entrance at Khadi Taktash street.
The promenade area from the existing embankment towards Nazarbayev street will be equipped a stand and a sports ground with a rubber coating and workout equipment. The cenches, litter boxes, flowerbeds and navigation elements will be installed at the embankment along Marjani street, which will have an access to the water. There will also be a rowing school, boat rentals, a cafe and a toilet on site.
“The embankment of Kaban Lake symbolizes the changes that are taking place in the city center. We are opening the second stage on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of TASSR,”- the Mayor said.
Special attention was paid to phyto-treatment facilities, which became the know-how of the previous stage of the embankment.
In total, there are 4 systems of double water purification cascades and 25 thousand plants on the embankment. Each of the systems will include 17 cascades. “This is not enough to clean up an entire lake in this way. But for children and citizens, this is a good educational pattern of the nature’s self-purification,”- I. Metshin said.
The second stage of the embankment ends with a pedestrian bridge over the water 200 m long, coming to Marjani street. It will loop a walking route around the lake with a total length of 5 kilometers.
“We express gratitude to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, working enterprises and businesses for not abandoning plans, while the construction of this facility costs almost 1.5 billion rubles. This is a huge amount of money, a huge infrastructure project that brings Kazan to a completely different level of living comfort,”- the Mayor concluded.
