I. Metshin: "Aksyonov Fest" holds an important place in Kazan’s cultural life
(KZN.RU, November 24, by Ekaterina Andreeva). "Aksyonov Fest" has become a fixture on the cultural map of Kazan, Tatarstan and Russia as a whole. This statement was made by Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin as the "Aksyonov Jazz Fest» kicked off at S.Saydashev Grand Concert Hall.
The music part of the annual festival is presented this year by the program "Jazz Transformations" featuring Andrei Makarevich, the Evgeny Bortz Trio, Irina Rodiles and the Brill Brothers.
“It is amazing how fast time flies. Today we are marking the first fifth anniversary of "Aksyonov Fest," said Ilsur Metshin. “And for many, coming to Kazan in November has become a tradition.”
Indeed, in November, the city habitually attracts “the sixties generation” and people closely associated with that period. "We’re especially happy to see young people come, try their hand in the contests and receive People's Choice Awards,” continued the mayor. “Kazan has become a center of cultural attraction for people with different backgrounds and different tastes."
"I am very pleased that the festival has taken place. "Aksyonov-Fest" holds an important place in the cultural life of our city. We will keep doing everything possible to ensure that Kazan is not only the capital of Tatarstan but also the capital of culture," summed up Ilsur Metshin.
