overhauled in Kazan. Since 2008, the overhaul has been done in 46% of the
entire housing stock of the city, about 2700 houses. Iskander Giniyatullin, the
deputy head of the Executive Committee, reported to Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of
Kazan, today.
In general,
Kazan is ahead of many million-population cities by the implementation of the
overhaul program, said I. Ginniyatullin. This year, the program includes 234
apartment buildings in the amount of 1.85 billion rubles. Also this year it is
planned to develop a design and estimate documentation for 2020 for another 192
houses.
In addition
to the overhaul in multi-apartment houses, the ongoing repair and replacement
of equipment continue. Thus, last year elevators were replaced in 38 Kazan
houses and weather control units were installed in 116 houses. This year,
elevators are planned to be replaced in 48 houses, another 83 houses will be
equipped with weather control units.

Ginniyatullin also reported on the main results of the work on social
facilities overhaul. He reminded that 2018 was the first year of the overhaul
for Kazan kindergartens: 19 pre-school education institutions were updated. In
addition, the overhaul took place in 3 schools. In total, 135 schools older
than 1981 were repaired in the capital of Tatarstan over 7 years, and 65
kindergartens were renewed in 4 years, reported the deputy head of the
Executive Committee.
The current
year’s program includes 14 kindergartens.
Repair of
institutions of additional education continues in Kazan. Last year, 8 teen
clubs were repaired in the capital of Tatarstan. In 6 years from 2013, 26
institutions have been updated, which is half of all clubs that needed an
overhaul.
As part of
the overhaul program of polyclinics in Kazan, 68 health facilities were
repaired in 2 years, of which 16 were renewed last year, said the speaker
