(KZN.RU, December 21). New warm locker rooms became a gift for young hockey players of secondary school №15 of the Sovetsky district to the beginning of a new hockey season. Many times payers of the school team “Volna” became winners of district and city tournaments of young hockey players “Golden Puck”. However, the conditions for training left much to be desired until recently.
Although the hockey box was updated two years ago, the locker rooms were located in the premises of the former trailer in the emergency condition. Shabby walls, holes in the floor, lack of ventilation and basic living conditions. Ilsur Metshin criticized all of this during his last visit to the school in the autumn of 2017. Then the head of the city instructed to work on this issue.
With the help of SMU-88, headed by Ilya Volfson, a deputy of the Kazan City Duma, a new brick heated room of about 400 square meters was built on the school grounds for locker rooms. The participation of the entrepreneur in the project was for a reason. Ilya Volfson graduated from the Sports School of the HC “Ak Bars” and continues to play hockey regularly.
Now young hockey players have completely different conditions. In addition to the benches and hangers, locker rooms are equipped with shelves for hockey sticks, rubber flooring, shower rooms and a toilet. There is a storage room for hockey gates and other equipment. The total investment amounted to 12 million rubles.
The Mayor of Kazan appreciated the conditions and quality of ice by taking part in a friendly match with the players of the “Volna”. Young athletes went to the ice with new sticks, which they received as a gift from the Mayor at the beginning of the season. Mixed teams were formed for a fair play, the meeting ended in a friendly draw 7:7.
This winter season, 77 plastic hockey boxes began to operate in Kazan. 69 coaches-teachers of teenage clubs work at 58 hockey boxes.
This year, within the framework of the Republican program for the construction of multipurpose sports grounds, plastic hockey boxes with artificial turf, locker rooms and stands were installed in the territory of the school №5 and in the school №35 for 20.6 million rubles.
