The 100th anniversary of the republican archival service has been celebrated in Kazan

(KZN.RU, November 21). Archives are a strategic resource of any state. Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, stated this at a festive concert in honor of the 100th anniversary of the republican archival service in the CLC Lenin. Andrey Artizov, the head of the Federal Archival Agency, Asgat Safarov, the head of the Presidential Administration of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Rafis Burganov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Education and Science of the RT, Marat Akhmetov, the deputy prime minister of the RT and the minister of Agriculture and Food of the RT, Rimma Ratnikova, the deputy chairman of the State Council of the RT, and others attended the event.

Before the start of the ceremony, the honored guests visited the exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the State Archival Service of the RT. It gathered photographs and documents on the service history in the republic.

“Archivists do work of great importance restoring the connection of times and carefully preserving the documentary heritage of the people”, Rustam Minnikhanov marked in his speech.

He noted that of much attention is paid to the archival industry in the republic. The state program “Archival Development in the RT for 2016–2020” is being implemented for the third year. The work is being carried out on the repair of archival storage facilities and the strengthening of the material and technical base of archival departments. There are achievements in the field of informatization of this sphere.

“It is important to remember that archives are an institution of collective memory. Losing them, any nation loses much in the future. I am confident that the archivists of Tatarstan will continue to adequately fulfill their mission and carefully preserve the documentary heritage. Your hard work deserves the most sincere respect”, said the President of the RT.

In conclusion, he presented awards to winners of republican competitions. Thus, the Ministry of Forestry of the RT took the first place in the contest “The Best Archive of a Non-Profit Organization”. The OAO “Setevaya Kompaniya” won the first place in the contest “The Best Archive of a Commercial Organization”, according to the portal of the President of the RT.

The head of the Federal Archival Agency highly appreciated the indicators of Tatarstan in terms of the repair of municipal archives. “Today, 87% of the municipal archives of the republic are fully repaired and meet modern standards. I say frankly, there are no such high rates anywhere else in Russia. Knowing the attitude towards the archive of the republican leadership, I am sure that this figure will soon reach 100 percent”, said Andrey Artizov.

Over the past few years, more than 2 billion rubles have been invested in the development of the archival industry of the republic. “I express my gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov and the Government of Tatarstan for the constant attention to the industry and the preservation of the national heritage of the republic”, he concluded.
