The puck was laid in the foundation of the future ice arena on the day of the 100th-anniversary celebration of Yudino

(KZN.RU, August 29, Alsu Safina). Today, the puck was laid in the base of a covered ice arena with artificial ice in the residential area of Yudino, which celebrates the 100th anniversary. Oleg Belozerov, the chairman of the Board of the Russian Railways, who came to celebrate the anniversary of the village, promised to co-finance this project.

The decision to build an ice arena in the settlement was voiced at the meeting of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, with residents of the housing estate and employees of the departments of the Kazan territorial administration of the Gorky Railway, a branch of the Russian Railways, in March this year.

“As we promised, an ice rink will be built here. The project is developed, we have the documentation, all decisions are made”, said Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT. “I am sure that next year we will play with you here. Have a good sport, love hockey!”.

Oleg Belozerov wished bright games and victories to young hockey players. “Sport and the railroad have a team spirit in common”, he said. “I think that many who will be engaged and achieve results will come to the railways after”. He thanked the leadership of the republic for the fact that sports facilities are being built for railway workers. “We will co-finance and support it”, he added.

Alexander Svitov, the captain of “Ak Bars”, congratulated the Yudino residents on the beginning of the new ice rink construction. “Love hockey, play hockey!” he urged the young athletes.

After that, the honorable guests together with the pupils of the school №153 and еру school №70 laid the puck in the foundation of the future ice arena, with which they played at the Gagarin Cup. Especially for the holiday, the symbols of the 100 anniversary of Yudino were imprinted on the puck. A special bonus for fans of hockey was the Gagarin Cup brought to the solemn event, the owner of which was the HC “Ak Bars”.

The ice arena along Politehnicheskaya Street will be located in a building with an area of more than 2 thousand square meters. The ice field size is 26x56 meters. The new sports facility is designed for training and competitions in hockey, figure skating, and mass skating. The capacity of the arena is 50 people per shift. The Ice Palace will be a place for training the children and youth sports school “Zilant”.

The skating rink is planned to be used all year round, with a break in work for 10-30 days for ice replacement and preventive works.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Vladimir Leonov, the minister of Sports of the RT, Rafik Yakubov, the general manager of the HC “Ak Bars”, Alexander Svitov, the captain of the “Ak Bars”, Ildar Gilmutdinov, the deputy of the State Duma, Sergey Mironov, the head of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts’ administration, as well as students of sports schools took part in the event.
