I. Metshin: “The opening of the 11th station of the Kazan metro is an expensive gift”

(KZN.RU, May 7, Alsu Safina). A test train was run on the metro station “Dubravnaya” on May 4, and testing of rolling stock and tracks is carried out at night. Marat Rakhimov, the general director of the AO “Kazmetrostroy”, promised to complete all the work within a month. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, called the metro a city attraction along with museums, architecture, parks, and the embankment.

“We are grateful to all metro builders for such a gift to the city, citizens, and guests of the capital. The opening of the 11th station of the Kazan Metro is a big and expensive gift”, said I. Metshin. He also thanked Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT. The Mayor of Kazan noted that in addition to Moscow and St. Petersburg, the metro is being built only in Kazan for the last years.

“Thanks to metro builders for working in any weather”, added the head of the city. I. Metshin noted that the weather did not allow to complete the work earlier. “I hope that all the works will be finished until the World Cup”, said the Mayor.

“Metro in the city is a convenience, first of all, for citizens, especially for residents of the Privolzhsky district, guests of the city. This is an additional force for the movement of citizens from a densely populated district to the center of the city, and Zarechie”, noted I. Metshin. “We get used to it, but the metro is the same attraction as museums, architecture, parks, squares, embankments for many guests, especially from small towns of the Volga region and Russia as a whole”.

Marat Rakhimov, the general director of AO “Kazmetrostroy”, reported on the progress of the work at the Business Monday. He said that now construction and installation work on the station is almost completed.

He drew attention to the fact that the station is equipped with all the necessary elements to provide low-mobility groups of the population. Two underground passages under Zorge Street are part of the station. They are also equipped with elevators for the low-mobility groups of the population.

“At the moment, all the necessary measurements have been carried out to compile the passport of the facility, dimensions were measured along the route of the train”, said the general director of the “Kazmetrostroy”. On May 4, a test train was run, during the passage of which the energy supply systems, contact rail, upper track structure, train radio communication were checked. According to Marat Rakhimov, the test results are good. The rolling stock and the track are being tested at night for the last two days. The work on the external networks of the station, water supply, water disposal, sewerage is ending. The “Dubravnaya” station was supplied with a constant voltage of 10 kV in the first category. The station is equipped with necessary furniture, fire extinguishing means, and cleaning equipment.

The reporter noted that the long spring did not allow full implementation of the whole complex of landscaping. More than 35 thousand square meters of intra-quarter roads, green zones. “The work is underway, we will try to finish it within a month”, said Marat Rakhimov.
