The Kazan Executive Committee won at the Spartakiada of municipal employees of the RT in ski races

(KZN.RU, March 12, Alsu Safina). The teams of the Kazan Executive Committee won two awards by the results of the competitions, which took place on the weekend in the republic. The Executive Committee team won in the ski races of the Spartakiad of municipal employees of the RT, the other team became the silver medalist of the first Alpine Skiing and Snowboard Festival for the President's Cup. Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairman of the Committee for Physical Culture and Sport, spoke about this today at the Business Monday.

Competitions on ski races in the Spartakiad of municipal employees of the RT were held in Zainsk. The team of the Kazan Executive Committee won for the first time in this sport. Marat Salakhov (managing director of the Executive Committee), Dinara Nasibullina (sports committee), Andrey Ryukhov and Raushania Fazylzyanova (experts of the Land and Property Relations Committee) were in the team. In total, 13 teams competed in this group. The team of Zainsk won the second place, giving in to the Executive Committee team for 6 seconds. The third place belongs to Aznakaevo team.

The first festival of alpine skiing and snowboarding for the President's Cup took place on March 11 in the all-season resort city “Sviyazhskie Holmy”. The competing teams included 4 sportsmen (2 snowboarders and 2 mountain skiers), one girl and three men. The team of the Kazan Executive Committee, which competed in the group “Bodies of State Power of the RT, authorities of municipalities of the RT”, was represented by two teams: “Kazan 1” and “Kazan 2”. The team “Kazan 1” under the leadership of Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, took the final second place. Dmitry Kochkin, Eduard Kochkin, and Svetlana Yemktsova also were on the team.

The team of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the RT took the first place, the third was taken by the Ministry of Economy of the RT.

Also, the 51st Kazan ski marathon in the All-Russian series of ski marathons “RussiaLoppet” was held on March 11 at the Yudino stadium “Lokomotiv”. The ski track of the marathon is expanded to 4 meters in preparation for the competition. According to S. Vostrikova, this allowed attracting even more participants.

Athletes competed at three distances of 5, 30, and 50 km. 756 strongest skiers not only from Russia but also foreign countries (Kazakhstan, France, Czechia) fought for a prize fund of 1 million rubles. Athletes of the Paralympic team of the country participated in the skiing as well.

The absolute winner among the men was Konstantin Glavatsky from Izhevsk with a time of 2.09.00. The chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports reminded that 51 years ago the first winner of the Kazan marathon Gumar Gainullin overcame this distance in 4 hours 14 minutes. The winner among women was Olga Rocheva from Syktyvkar with the result of 2 hours and 22 minutes.

Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, thanked the participants of the Executive Committee teams who won prizes in competitions.

“This is a great achievement that we are reviving sports days both in summer and winter directions”, believes the head of the city. “Not just municipal employees but also our colleagues from MUPs, law enforcement bodies are actively participating. A variety of professions, a very different age, and the best example of how the sports capital of Russia should cultivate a healthy lifestyle, educate the younger generation”.

According to I. Metshin, the past Olympiad showed that the main thing is not victory but participation. “This motto also applies to Spartakiad but we are also winning in this case”, said the Mayor. “I am glad that from year to year the number of people involved in sports and the quality are growing. We will definitely pay attention to this, support all sports, mass activities of our citizens both in the Spartakiad and in the regular championships that take place on the territory of Kazan, and necessarily in the place of residence”.
