(KZN.RU, March 2, Ekaterina Vislavskaya). The winner of the contest “Best Teacher of the Year in Kazan-2018” was named in the Kazan City Hall. It was Timur Vishnevsky, the history teacher of the gymnasium №19 in the Privolzhsky district. He also won first place in the category “Subject teacher”. The competition was held in 9 nominations. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, presented the award to the best teacher of 2018.
“The special feature of the competition is the participation of specialists of different ages in it: teachers-veterans and teachers who have just started their work in the field of education. It is this competition that becomes the main platform for the exchange of professional experience, the integration of the old school and the trends of the new time”, said the Mayor at the ceremony. He added that the contest gives an opportunity for Kazan teachers to express themselves throughout Russia.
T. Vishnevsky thanked his family, the staff of the gymnasium №19, and the Department of Education of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts, who supported him throughout the contest. “Each of us stood before the choice of profession. I am from the pedagogical dynasty and have been familiar with this profession since childhood. But my mother told me: “Choose for yourself”. I made this choice myself, and have never regretted it”, he said. “A special thanks to those who organized this contest. I am sure more and more young people will choose our noble profession with every such event”.
This year the city competition was held jointly with the zonal stage of the republican competition. T. Vishnevsky as the winner will present Kazan at the republican competition.
The annual contest “Teacher of the Year” was held in the capital of Tatarstan for the 28th time. The district stage was held in November-December, the city stage – in January-February. The competition was held in three rounds. 488 teachers took part in the first, in absentia. Members of the jury, which included representatives of universities, candidates and doctors of science, winners of past years, and jury members of a similar republican contest, evaluated the teachers' personal websites and their essays. 91 teachers from 76 educational organizations of Kazan passed in the second on-site tour, they were to conduct a training session and a methodical seminar. The final test was the creation of an educational project; the ability to work in a team was assessed at this stage. The average age of the contestants was 42 years. The oldest participant was 69 years old, the youngest was 21 years old.
The Mayor also awarded the winners in the nomination “Educator of pre-school educational institutions”.
Galina Bobrova, the teacher of IT technologies at the Center for Out-of-School Work of the Aviastroitelny district, won the nomination “Additional Education Teacher”.
Marina Zakharova, the teacher-organizer of the gymnasium №152 in the Kirovsky district, became the best in the nomination “Teacher-organizer”.
The main prize in the category “Class teacher” was taken by Anastasia Rosikhina, the teacher of the gymnasium №6 of the Privolzhsky district.
Azat Sanatullov, the teacher of the lyceum №177 at the Novo-Savinovsky district, won the nomination “Teacher of Health and Safety”.
The first place in the nomination “Teacher of the Tatar language and literature” was taken by Ilmira Absalyamova, the teacher of the school №39 of the Vakhitovsky district.
The best results in the nomination “Pedagogical debut” were shown by Elvina Bekmurzaeva, the history teacher of the lyceum №121 of the Sovetsky district.
Natalia Maksimova, the mathematics teacher of the gymnasium №90 of the Sovetsky district, won the first place in the nomination “Veteran-teacher”.
Ekaterina Rusakova, the chemistry teacher at the school №143 of the Novo-Savinovsky district, Yulia Melnikova, the Russian teacher at the gymnasium №122 named after Z. Zaitseva of the Moskovsky district, and Dmitry Spiridonov, the history teacher of the school №175 of the Sovetsky district, became laureates in the nomination “Subject teacher”.

We work for the sake of such teachers who stand next to me and present in the hall, your colleagues and our children. It is a great honor and pride for me to work and be at the head of the city with such teachers”, said I. Metshin at the end of the ceremony.
Ilsur Hadiullin, the first deputy minister of Education and Science of the RT, Lyudmila Andreeva, the deputy head of the Kazan Municipality, heads of districts, and others took part in the event. The Art Center “Sharm”, the Russian Song Theater “Vorozheya”, the Kazan Dance Ensemble, the Choir Group of the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the RT, and other collectives congratulated the winners and performed during the awarding ceremony.
