1 billion 250 million rubles will be allocated to the development of public spaces in Kazan in 2018

(KZN.RU, January 24, Alsu Safina). 1 billion 250 million rubles will be allocated from the federal and republican budgets for the implementation of activities for the development of public spaces in Kazan in 2018 by to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the RT. Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee of External Improvement, reported this at the XXIII session of the Kazan City Duma today.

I. Kulyazhev noted that the implementation of the improvement program last year was carried out within the framework of the federal priority project for the formation of a comfortable urban environment. “More than 1 billion rubles was spent for these purposes, of which 282 million rubles are federal budget funds, 481 million rubles are from the republican budget, about 300 million rubles are funds from socially responsible enterprises and organizations”, he said.

8 objects with a total area of 130 hectares were landscaped: the Uritsky Park, the Krylia Sovetov, the Chernoe Ozero, the Gorkinsko-Ometevsky Forest, the Pobedy Park, the Kaleidoscope Park, the Nizhny Kaban Embankment, and the Lebyazhie Forest.

The chairman of the Committee for External Improvement said that for the first time in recent years, the reforestation work was carried out in the Lebyazhie Forest, within which more than 70000 seedlings were planted. “In total, it is planned to plant more than 220000 trees”, he said.

Work on the improvement of park areas in Kazan was highly appreciated at the main professional competition of the country on objects of landscape architecture, established by the Union of Architects and the Association of Landscape Architects of Russia. I. Kulyazhev reminded that in 2017, Kazan was awarded a gold diploma in the nomination “Most comfortable city of Russia with a population of more than 1 million people”. And a gold diploma was awarded for the reconstruction of the central square of the Lyadskoy Garden in the nomination “Best realized object of the cultural and historical heritage”.

Natalia Fishman, the assistant to the President of the RT, said that this year, it is planned to continue the improvement of the Kaleidoscope park in Syrtlanova Street, the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky Forest, the Krylya Sovetov Park. Also, the work will be done on Dekabristov Street on the site near the Family Center, next to which will be a fan festival in the FIFA World Cup-2018. In addition, landscaping is planned in the park near the RC “Komsomolets” on Karbyshev Street, in the park on Absalyamov Street, and on the boulevard on Fuchik Street. It is also expected to complete the first phase of improvement on Nizhny Kaban Lake.

“We have good results this year. I am sure that with the volume of funds allocated to Kazan this year we will show a good result together”, she said.

The Mayor of Kazan thanked Natalia Fishman for the work. “It is difficult to overestimate the result that we have today. It is a pleasant surprise, the number of people in the parks. I met a huge number of both amateurs and professional athletes”, said I. Metshin.

He drew attention to the fact that no project for the improvement of parks and squares was implemented without discussion. “The scale of work this year is increased. There will be a large amount of work, the help of the deputies is necessary. Let's work together”, urged the Mayor.
