Championship of Professional Skills “WorldSkills Competition”, the competitions
flag transfer to Kazan will take place on October 19 in Abu Dhabi. “The
transfer of the flag is an exciting moment. After that, the countdown will
begin to the date of the World Championship in the capital of Tatarstan”, said
Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, said on the Business Monday.
The Mayor
reminded that preparations for the WorldSkills World Cup 2019 began immediately
after Russia won the right to hold competitions in Kazan on August 10, 2015, in
Sao Paulo. The capital of Tatarstan competed with Paris.
“Time goes
by quickly, the list of tasks is big”, noted I. Metshin. “We are all working under
the leadership of the President of the RT and with colleagues from the
Government of the RT. Everyone knows his job. At the same time, the task is
very responsible”. According to the Mayor, the international exhibition center
“Kazan Expo”, where the world championship will take place, must be delivered
in time and test events will be held there. The exhibition center includes a
competition zone, pavilions, a gallery, a congress hall, multifunctional halls,
and a restaurant. In addition, it is planned to include a hotel for 200 rooms
and additional open areas in the complex.
The 45th
WorldSkills Competition will be held in the capital of Tatarstan from August 29
to September 3, 2019. Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive
Committee, said that about 1300 people from more than 70 countries are expected
to participate in the competitions. Contestants will demonstrate their skills
in more than 50 competencies. 4 competencies in the field of “Services” and one
competence in the “Creativity and Design” are assigned to the Kazan Executive
Committee.
“Currently,
as part of the preparation of the contestants for the FIFA World Cup 2019, the
Executive Committee in conjunction with the established secondary vocational
schools has organized a dual education, which provides additional training for
the forthcoming championships”, said D. Fattakhov. “Work is also underway to
develop a program to improve the quality of services and to provide centers of
competence with the necessary equipment, tools, and supplies”.
About 1
thousand experts will evaluate the work of the participants in Kazan. It is
supposed to involve 2 thousand volunteers at the world championship of
professional skills. “250 thousand visitors are expected at the competitions,
about half of which are schoolchildren”, said D. Fattakhov. In addition, the
JuniorSkills Championship will be held in the framework of competitions among
schoolchildren in two age categories: from 10 to 14 years and from 14 to 17
years.
During the
report, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee said that the team
WorldSkills Abu Dhabi will come to the capital of Tatarstan to exchange
experience in holding the competitions on December 4-9 this year.
8 students
from Tatarstan participate as part of the Russian team in the current world
championship of professional skills in Abu Dhabi, which compete in 7
competencies.
