(KZN.RU, June 22). The laying of flowers and wreaths to the Eternal Flame Colonnade of the Glory Memorial took place in Pobedy Park in Kazan today, on the Day of Memory and Sorrow.
Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Vitaly Mutko, the deputy Prime Minister of the RF and the president of the Russian Football Union, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Reinhard Grindel, the president of the German Football Union, and other officials attended the ceremony.
Participants of the ceremony paid tribute to those who died in battle with a minute of silence.
The silent drill platoon of the Kazan Garrison was involved in the event.
Guests also visited the Memorial Complex “Book of Memory”.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Vitaly Mutko talked with veterans, representatives of scouting force, and participants in the military-patriotic campaign “Candle of Memory” before the start of the ceremony, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
