Ilsur Metshin inspected the readiness of the summer camp “Berezka”

(KZN.RU, June 2, Alsu Safina). The summer children's health campaign begins on June 2 in Kazan. In the first shift, about 1500 children will rest in 14 municipal camps. On June 13, the summer camp “Berezka”, located in Zelenodolsky district of Tatarstan, will host first 250 children. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, inspected the readiness of the camp.

To date, all 7 residential buildings of the municipal camp “Berezka” have been brought to the normative state, the camp has received all necessary permits. Ilsur Metshin inspected one of the two new housing blocks for 60 places. Their construction was carried out from January to May this year on the republican program for the overhaul of children's camps. The houses are built of a wooden frame. The buildings are insulated and lined with plywood and OSB plates from the inside and with the front panel on the outside. In addition, electric heating is provided in new buildings. The boardwalks were formerly on the site of new buildings.

The Mayor also examined one of the old buildings. Damir Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, explained that residential buildings in 80% of municipal camps are in such a deplorable state. “The new buildings that we saw are, of course, good but most of Kazan's children are still resting in other conditions”, said Ilsur Metshin. “We need a program. It is clear that we cannot do everything in one day. The program for overhauling schools, kindergartens, and housing stock is being implemented. It's good that these camps were not sold to dachas, cottages, and recreation centers. But when children are resting in such conditions, it is not very worthy of the capital of the republic”.

The Mayor inspected a bright and spacious dining room, built in 2015. It can hold 250 children at the same time.

Repair of the water pipe was carried out in the “Berezka” by funds, allocated from the city budget. Also, the replacement of doors and windows, electrical wiring, transformers and other work necessary to ensure the safety of children on vacation, are held in the camps as part of ongoing maintenance. This year, 14 million rubles are allocated for this purpose from the city treasury: 1 million rubles for each camp.

Ilsur Metshin also talked with the leaders who are preparing to start work. Airat Faizov, the chairman of the Committee for Children and Youth Affairs, noted that the school of leaders is held annually on the basis of the KFU, after which the corresponding certificate is issued. This year, about 200 people were trained in the leaders’ school in the spring. One leader is assigned for every 15 children who are taking a rest in the camp.

Over 9.8 thousand Kazan children will be able to attend the summer health campaign in the municipal camps. 7 municipal camps are located within the city limits, 7 ones – outside of Kazan: in Zelenodolsky, Laishevsky, Vysokogorsky, and Pestrechinsky regions. In 2017, the number of tours is 11 thousand. Part of the packages is free of charge. The category of children claiming to receive them has been expanded this year. In other cases, the cost of a full voyage in the profile shift for 18 days is almost 15 thousand rubles, while the parents pay only about 4 thousand rubles.

Rustam Garifullin, the deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports of the RT, Minnegarai Nasibullin, the director of the OOO “Remontstroyservis”, Kirill Borisov, the director of the MBE “Yal”, visited the camp “Berezka” together with the Mayor.

The camp “Berezka” was founded in 1964. 7 residential summer buildings, a medical center, a club, a dining room, a bath and laundry building, a football and volleyball grounds are located on an area of 7.2 hectares.
