In Tatarstan the basic wage rate for coaches in sports schools increased by 35%
(KZN.RU, May 15, Alsou Safina). The average wage of coaches in children and youth sports schools of Kazan has grown from 21 886 rubles to 30 461 rubles.
Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairman of Committee of physical culture and sports reported about it on Business Monday today. She reminded that the coaches’ wages issue was one of the sharpest last year, and was raised on several occasions including the annual board of the Ministry of youth affairs and sports of Tatarstan in February this year. The President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov charged the Ministry of Finance of the republic to handle this issue. As a result, starting March 1st, 2017 the basic wage rate of coaches has been increased by 35% - from 9 600 rubles to 13 138 rubles. Thus, the average wage of coaches, consisting of a basic unit, the stimulating payments and off-budget surcharges makes 30 461 rubles now.
"It is important that the coaches’ wages were raised to 30 thousand rubles, this is a serious increase,” - the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin commented. – “Thanks to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan who supported and heard us once again. We have everything to train our children for elite sport".
It should be noted that the Kazan athletes are trained by 589 38 sports coaches-teachers. Average age of coaches is 43. Thanks to the Volga region academy of physical culture and sport last year 140 coaches-teachers went through retraining or advanced training courses. This year 101 coaches will participate in them.
