December 22). Competition results of research and scientific and practical work
on scientific scholarships of the Mayor of Kazan among pupils, students and
postgraduates were summed up in the capital of Tatarstan. Ilsur Metshin, the
Mayor, awarded the winners in the City Hall today.
Damir
Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Executive Committee, Azat Abzalov, the
head of Kazan Department of Culture, Airat Faizov, the chairman of the
Committee on Children and Youth Affairs, rectors of higher educational
institutions of Kazan and others also attended the event.
More than
160 works were submitted to the contest this year, 68 of which passed into the
internal round. At the second stage, the finalists presented their research
work to the expert committee, decision of which was to award this year's
scholarship 27 students and 13 graduate students of higher and professional
educational institutions in the city. Students of the KSAU, the KFU, the VRSAofPCST,
the KNRTU, the TISBI, the KCI RCU, the KIU (IEML), the KSPEU, the KSUAE, the KLI
MIA, the KSMU, the KNRTU-KAI, the IOPC, and other universities and colleges of
Kazan are among them.
Also, 30
students of the children's music and art schools, were recognized winners of
the competition.
Ilsur
Metshin noted that he was pleased to see so many young faces in the Kazan City
Hall again, which give confidence in the future to capital of Tatarstan and the
whole republic by their achievements. “Noting your hard work, we strive to
support you and show that your activities bring significant benefits even now
and are the benchmark for all young people. The same can be said about the
scientific talent. Our future is directly related to how we will be able to
implement scientific and technical achievements in the ordinary daily life, in
the development of the industry, the environment, the economy, so I want to
thank you for your work and for the results you reached”, said the Mayor.
The Mayor
also congratulated the winners on behalf of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President
of Tatarstan, and Mintimer Shaimiev, the first head of the republic, which gave
best wishes to young talents.
The Mayor
of Kazan especially marked the practical use of the developments, based on the
works of scholars. “We already have a very successful experience in realization
of such ideas. For example, joint work of Azamat Minibaeva with the research
team of the Power Engineering University formed the basis for improving the
functioning of Kazan TPP-3. Such examples suggest that the developments of
young Kazan citizens not only viable, but also significantly affect the quality
of life in our city”, said I. Metshin.
In
conclusion of his speech, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to mentors,
teachers, instructors, tutors and parents of scholars, noting that they were
able to instill a thirst for knowledge and a love of creativity among future
winners of the competition.
Eduard
Abdullazyanov, the rector of the Kazan State Power Engineering University,
congratulated the winners on behalf of the heads of Kazan universities. “With
such a youth, such a team and the republic, with the Mayor, we will do
everything to make our republic and city prosper”, assured E. Abdullazyanov.
Anna
Busygina, one of this year's scholarship winners and a student of the KNRTU,
thanked the Mayor on behalf of the gathered students. “We express our immense
gratitude to the Mayor of Kazan for the annual organization of such an
important competition for young people, for their assistance in the
implementation of innovative ideas and scientific research of post-graduate
students, for the support of unique creative abilities of students”, she said.
“Having
such a powerful support of the Mayor and his team, we promise not to stop. We
will maintain and increase the intellectual potential of young people and, most
importantly, praise Kazan and Tatarstan in the spheres of science and art not
only in the All-Russian arena, but also at the international level”, added A.
Busygina.
The annual
competition is held since 1994 in order to attract students to scientific and
research activities in the field of municipal services, social services and
Kazan youth policy.
The
scholarship of this year: for graduate - 30 thousand rubles, for students and
experts of youth organizations - 20 thousand rubles, for students - 10 thousand
rubles, for students of the children's music and art schools - 10 thousand
rubles.
