I. Metshin inspected the landscaping progress of the Gorkinsko-Ometevsky forest

(KZN.RU, October 12, Anton Nozdrin). Illuminated ski trail will be equipped in a forest area in the winter, and a new pedestrian fountain will appear next summer in the Gorkinsko-Ometevsky forest. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the city, inspected the progress of works.

Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee of improvements, said to the governor that the first phase of the forest reconstruction completed by 75%. Parking spots, the central paths and pavements have already been completed, and the foundation and frame of a ski resort have been built. Daria Tolovenkova, the architect of the park, said the old ski tracks of 1.5 km and 3.5 km have been preserved and modernized. The settlement of entrance group and the playground is now carrying out, and the walls of the eco-center are building. I. Kulyazhev reminded that the project involves the construction of bridges across the ravine, a cycling-track and a scene. The project also provides the outdoor lighting, video surveillance, water supply and sanitation.

Unique pedestrian fountain will be one of the main highlights of the updated area in the favorite vacation spot of locals. Georgy Kazakevich, the director of the “Aqua Brand”, whose company is engaged in construction of the facility, said to the Mayor that the work will be completed by the end of this week, and the launch is planned for next year. The composition will be complemented by balls of different diameters, located on top, which will work in sync with illumination. The Mayor of Kazan approved the idea, noting the creative approach to the project.

The landscaping project was actively discussed with the inhabitants of the Sovetsky and Privolzhsky districts and the inhabitants wishes were taken into account. Thus, the meeting with the ski community was carried out for designing of the ski tracks. According to I. Kulyazhev, ski and pedestrian routes will not overlap. “The fact that we will please Kazan citizens to the new ski season is a big deal. We will pleasantly surprise our residents”, concluded I. Metshin.

During the inspection I. Metshin talked with athletes, training in the forest. One of them said that he moved to Kazan 40 years ago, and training in here since that time. “This construction is a gift from authorities to people”, he said.

The Mayor noted that the parks, constructed in the Soviet period, repaired in Kazan earlier, but here we are talking about creating a new landscaped area, where everything is provided for recreation of residents of all ages. People used to come here before, but the area was quite neglected. The Mayor noted that the improvement of the forest area has been made possible thanks to the program of parks and gardens improvement by Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan.

Rustem Gafarov, the head of the Sovetsky district administration, Andrei Lobov, the head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts administration, Tatiana Prokofieva, the chief architect of Kazan, and others also took part in the inspection.

The reconstruction project of a forest territory provides minimum interference in the environment area. The final version of the draft was presented to Kazan citizens by Natalia Fishman, the assistant of the President of the RT, in July this year.
