Ilsur Metshin opened the meeting of the Executive Bureau of the World Organization of UCLG
(Kazan City KZN.RU, May 26, Zilya Gayfi). In the exhibition center "Kazan Fair" a meeting of the Executive Bureau of the World Organization "United Cities and Local Governments" opened. The event is attended by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, RT State Council Chairman Farid Mukhametshin, Mayor of Kazan, President of the Eurasian department and co-president of UCLG Ilsur Metshin, Secretary General of UCLG Joseph Roig, Co-President of UCLG, Mayor of Victoria Jacqueline Moustache-Bel, a professor, an economist and author of the theory of creative class Richard Florida and others.
Ilsur Metshin greeted the participants and guests of the meeting - more than 200 representatives of the 97 municipalities of the world, noting that Kazan has a great honor to host an event of this magnitude. "The headquarters of the Eurasian section of UCLG, which includes more than 300 cities and 12 countries, where 300 million people live, is located in Kazan. Some of you have had the idea of Russia as a harsh country; these representations are formed in the past. Kazan is a cosmopolitan city; a permanent dialogue between cultures and religions is underway here. Just as UCLG, Kazan unites cities in different parts of the world. On behalf of all the cities of Eurasia I thank the Supreme Council of UCLG for the decision to hold the Executive Bureau of the World Organization in our city. This is the most important event of the year, both for the country and for the whole of Eurasia. I hope that the work of the Executive Office will be remembered as a memorable and productive"- the Mayor of Kazan said.
The meeting of the Executive Bureau of UCLG is held in Kazan on the eve of the third World Summit of Local and Regional Authorities, which will be held in the capital of Colombia - Bagota in October 2016. At a meeting of the Executive Bureau in Kazan the main measures to prepare for the summit will be outlined.
