(Kazan City
KZN.RU, 7 April). Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the new sports hall of lyceum
№131 in Vakhitovsky district. The Mayor praised the results of the work, looked
at physical education classes, physics and robotics, as well as communicated to
the lyceum students, which heads the ranking of Kazan schools for gifted
children.
Director of
lyceum Alfia Khabibulina told the head of the city that during the overhaul of
educational establishment in 2012-2013 lobby, flooring, roofing and all classes
were renovated. The new sports hall of the lyceum was built by order of the
President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in 2015 and put into
operation in December last year. Old hall was located on the fourth floor of a
building that does not meet the requirements.
Despite the
fact that the school has a physical and mathematical profile, its students for
many years are actively involved in the ongoing regional and city competitions,
winning sports awards. Teacher of physical education Aida Pozhidaeva noted that
this year lyceum students have won first place in city competitions on
volleyball among girls and basketball among boys. "There are not only physics
and mathematics in our school, but also athletes" - the teacher added. "Thank
you so much for the new hall. Conditions are much better, "- A.Pozhidaeva thanked
the Mayor.
In the gym
at the time of visiting the Mayor physical education classes with students of 9
classes were held. The governor talked with the students. Children told that it
has become easier and more interesting to be engaged in sports. Ilsur Metshin
also questioned the children about plans for the future. As it turned out, most
of them after want to continue studying in Kazan universities after graduation from
the Lyceum. The Mayor noted the high results of school students. "It is
not the first year when students of the Lyceum set the tone in Russian and
international competitions. It is the merit of the teaching staff and yours.
We're worried about you. We are proud of you and do everything that you were
healthy, intelligent and moved Kazan forward,"- the Mayor addressed to
Kazan lyceum students.
The Mayor
also visited the robotics, physics and chemistry classes. Also, the Mayor looked
at the old gym. Lyceum Management plans to convert the premises into two study
rooms. As A.Habibullina described, one room is planned to adjust to lessons on
robotics and physics, the second - to the subject of art.
In the Museum
of the history of the lyceum director told the governor about the history and
outstanding graduates, including the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
Artem Hohorin, People's Artist of Russia Renat Ibragimov, rector of KAI-KNRTU
Albert Gilmutdinov and other famous personalities. The Mayor gave the museum a
football ball signed by the players of Kazan "Rubin". By the way, the
museum has kept the ball, given to Lyceum by football club "Rubin" in
1991.
The visit
to the Lyceum was also attended by Deputy Head of the Executive Committee on
Social Affairs Natalia Grechannikova, head of the Department of Education of
the city Ilsur Hadiullin and head of the administration Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky
districts of Kazan Andrey Lobov.

was opened in 1961, 700 children enrolled here. Students are accepted to the
lyceum on the results of the contest. Graduates traditionally show good results
of the Unified State Exam. Over the last two years the school is in the top 25 of
the best schools of Russia.
