Kazan monuments need responsible owners, Ilsur Metshin considers
(KZN.RU, April 18). We need to work with an owner of each building being of value. “Irresponsible owners of such buildings have to part with the property and we are to find new investors for these buildings”, Ilsur Metshin commented.
Today there are 552 historical monuments in Kazan.
“There are owners who got buildings a lot of years ago and now they are waiting when authority lets its guard down and they can begin the construction of dwelling houses. These owners must know – such things won’t be anymore”, Mayor noted.
“President of Tatarstan has a clear attitude towards the problem– they have to reconstruct or to give back buildings”, Ilsur Metshin continued, “sales of such buildings have already started. We are happy about it as more responsible owners will come despite former ones”.
The deadline for reconstruction and restoration is 2013. “Things we don’t manage to do must be conserved as minimum”, Mayor of Kazan summed up.
