This year, 43 kilometers of roads are planned to be repaired in 40 settlements in Kazan. Ninety village roads will be maintained in the proper condition, which is more than half of all the roads that will be repaired this year. According to Igor Kulyazhev, deputy head of the Executive Committee, 2 billion rubles will be allocated on improving living conditions in these areas.
In 2025, 170 road sections are planned to be repaired. Almost 20 billion rubles have been allocated from the republican and federal budgets for these purposes. “This year, we finally get the funds for the road repair program that we have long dreamed of to start the work in the villages. Of the 170 sites that are planned for major repairs, 90 are in suburban settlements. The fact that 85% of the city's roads are in good condition allows us to enter villages with a large volume. This is an indicator of the national project, a task that Russian President Vladimir Putin has set for the regions and municipalities. We are one of the few cities where this target has been met. We hope that now we will also get villages with well–maintained and lighted streets,”- said Ilsur Metshin.
According to the results of last year, 13 sections of village roads with a total length of 8.5 kilometers were repaired. The issue of road repairs in residential areas was regularly discussed at meetings of the Kazan City Duma and meetings with residents.
“We have been systematically raising this issue with the leadership of the republic every year. We always talk about the importance of making our capital polycentric. Regardless of where citizens live, they should feel like true residents of the capital. We are now starting such a significant amount of work in the settlements. We express our gratitude to the Rais of Tatarstan for his great support,”- the Mayor noted.
