I.Metshin: "'Turkvision' vividly told the whole world about Kazan"
(Kazan, KZN.RU, November 22, by Albert Murtazin). The 2nd International TV Song Contest «Turkvision», whose final was held in Kazan, was another event that vividly told the world about Tatarstan and its capital city, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin said at today's Business Monday meeting.
The final of the Second International TV Song Contest of Turkic-speaking Performers «Turkvision» was held in the "Tatneft-Arena" ice palace. The contest was broadcast to more than 40 countries and the number of viewers was estimated at about 100 million people. "It's a very interesting project. A kind of Eurovision, but involving the Turkic-speaking countries. A truly spectacular event!" said the mayor.
It is worth noting that 25 singers and bands participated in this year's «Turkvision», which is similar to Eurovision. The Republic of Tatarstan was represented by 26-year-old Aydar Suleiman of Zainsk, who took an honorable second place. The winner was the singer from Kazakhstan, Zhanar Dugalova.
