(Kazan, KZN.RU, November 22, by Zilya Gayfi). Kazan projects have won the All-Russian energy saving and energy efficiency competition"ENES-2014." The awards ceremony took place in the framework of the Third International Forum "Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency," held in Moscow from November 20 to 22. Ivan Kuznetsov, deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee for Economic Development, spoke about the competition results at today's Business Monday meeting.
«ENES» is a leading European exhibition and a major Russian power industry show. "The competition featured more than 400 projects from 67 regions of Russia, for which a total of over a million people voted. We saw this contest as another opportunity to assert Kazan as a city with a high level of energy efficiency of municipal services. The Executive Committee of Kazan nominated five projects, and all of them, having been selected by Tatarstan, were nominated for the national competition. All five projects have won," said Ivan Kuznetsov and thanked the companies and institutions which honorably represented the city in the competition, as well as the residents who took part in the vote.
The projects implemented in the public sector, housing and public transportation of the Tatarstan capital were submitted for the competition.
According to Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, the victory confirmed the Tatarstan capital's status as an energy efficient city. "It's a good result with an impressive list of winners – from a public school to a residential building. We place great emphasis on energy conservation. Such competitions give an opportunity to learn from the best experience of Russia and the world. Energy savings are essentially budgetary savings. It is important that we implement these projects using the example of schools and teaching children to take care of natural resources. We will continue to pursue such policies," said the mayor and congratulated the winners.
