By 2030, Admiralteiskaya Sloboda may become an attractive tourist destination
(KZN.RU, September 3) By 2030, Admiralteiskaya Sloboda (Admiralty Settlement) of Kazan may become an attractive tourist destination and an upscale residential area. These targets of neighborhood development were set at today's seminar at the Kazan State University of Architecture and Construction.
The seminar was attended by President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
The authors of the project propose creating a number of marketing brands in the area, including such historical landmarks as the Zilantov Monastery and the Petrovskaya shipyard, and new ones: a theme park featuring the history of the Russian Navy, to be laid out along the old course of the Kazanka River, and an improved Volga waterfront. The newly restored "Tver" galley is planned to be placed in the theme park.
