(KZN.RU, February 20, by Renat Shirmanov) More than three million portions of food will be prepared for the guests and participants of the World Student Games. This was stated by Oksana Tubman, deputy head of the NGO "Executive Board" Kazan 2013", at today's meeting of the headquarters for Universiade preparation.
One of the main caterers for the Games participants will be the Universiade Village restaurant with a capacity exceeding 3,500. "It will provide five types of cuisine: ethnic, Asian, European, vegetarian and halal. There will be 12-15 kinds of appetizers, 10 main courses and side dishes. In addition, the athletes and delegates will be able to order lunch-boxes," said the deputy head.
As for the catering to the 20,000 volunteers who will participate in the Universiade, lunch-boxes will be delivered to their workplaces.
"We have a rich culinary tradition, and we should make sure that the Universiade is remembered not only for its high organizational level, but also for the variety of high-quality food. We'll provide the Universiade spectacle, you – the bread," concluded the mayor of Kazan.
