Preparation of the Universiade opening ceremony site starts in Kazan
(KZN.RU, February 15, by Renat Shirmanov) The construction of the stage for the 2013 World Summer Student Games opening and closing ceremonies kicked off at the football stadium under the control of Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
"The scenario for the 2013 Universiade opening and closing ceremonies has already been approved by the republic's leadership; now is the time to implement our vision. We must prepare a venue for the ceremony which the whole world is going to watch," said Ilsur Metshin.
Unique 55-meter tall structures weighing 470 tons will be erected. The project was developed by V.A. Kucherenko Central Research Institute for Building Structures.
