On April 25, a citywide clean–up day took place in Kazan. About 50 thousand residents took part in it, including three thousand employees of the Executive Committee and district administrations of Kazan, as well as more than 4,300 enterprises and institutions of the city. They cleaned 1.4 million square meters of roads and 1.5 million square meters of green areas, as well as removed more than 9,000 cubic meters of waste.
“I would like express the words of gratitude to our residents, school students, students of colleges and universities, young people, employees of enterprises, property management companies, and everyone who actively participated in the clean-up day. It is great to see the results on the way to work and see how the city has been changed after the cleanup. This is a good tradition, as a collective effort multiplies the results. We are used to being proud of a clean city. All visitors to Kazan notice this feature. I want to thank once again everyone who participated in the event, who keep our city clean and do not litter. Together, we are making our city more comfortable, well-maintained, and clean,”- said the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
