The BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities and the UCLG World Organization sign a Memorandum of Understanding

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed today in Xi'an, China, between the BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities and the World Organization United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG). Ilsur Metshin, the Honorary Chairman of the BRICS+ Association, and Emilia Saiz, the Secretary General of UCLG, attended the signing ceremony. The agreement was signed during a working visit of the Mayor of Kazan to China during the UCLG-Eurasia World Council meeting.
The BRICS+ Association of Cities and Municipalities and UCLG signed the memorandum, in connection with their mutual interest in comprehensive cooperation and desire to develop inter-municipal cooperation and improve urban development efficiency.
The Memorandum of Understanding provides for strengthening partnerships and developing international relations between international organizations of different countries, joint organization and implementation of inter-municipal international projects, cultural and educational programs. Additionally, the agreement aims to enhance the role of local authorities in increasing confidence and mutual understanding among states.
